Modelling and animation practice

Just making sure I'm prepared for when I need to model the character.

I started the model last week and finished it off today, not being ambitious with it just getting the process down. I'm happy with how the body went but I need to figure out a better way of doing the head.

Then I quickly rigged and made a test animation to make sure I know how.

Art style ideas

 (24/09/15)
Some sketches I did to help out the concept artist with ideas for the style, the one on the right is the closest to the kind of look we want.

More of the same, was helping out with the location and composition this time.

The lost-factory Initial Ideas

For our first team meet, we picked our words to use as the focus of our point and click game. The words we got where 'lost' and 'factory', so our initial thoughts where to make a game about being lost or losing something in a factory. We then shared ideas on the different subjects or mechanics the game could have.

We first went with the idea of an abandoned Victorian factory with the lost souls of dead children inside. A news reporter goes inside to work out the mysteries behind there deaths, whilst the ghouls are also trying to kill her. We then realized that this idea would be to similer to Friday Night at Freddie's, so we changed it to a puzzle game with one ghost. Insted of a reposter there would be a spirit mideam, who needs to find the ghost and exsasise it. Once we had a basic idea, we made a mood board with different focal points of our game. Theses included the factory, the ghost, the main character, the style and the camera angles.

We also noted basic mechanics and story points for our one sheet, so that we all had an idea as of what we where aiming for.
